How do I review, comment and build influence?

Writing and replying to reviews

To post a review of another product, you need to sign in, verify your email and have your own live listing. You can review each product once, but not your own. Reviews must be at least 80 characters and go live immediately.

Listing owners or team managers can post one public reply under each review. You can edit or delete your reply later, and the reviewer gets a notification when you first respond.

Product reviews of the alternatives

Alternative Biz gathers its Product reviews at /reviews ("Product reviews" in the footer, shown once the first one is published). Only commissioned reviews are there: each was paid for by the maker, who cannot edit it. Community reviews stay on each product's own reviews page. No score is worked out.

Commenting on launches

Any signed-in visitor with a verified email can comment on a launch page and reply to other comments. This lets you ask questions, share thoughts and join discussions about products you're interested in.

Reporting content

Use the Report link to flag any listing, review, reply or comment. When 3 people report the same review or comment, it's hidden while our team checks it. Reported listings go to our team for review but are never auto-hidden.

Following and sharing

Click Follow on a company, product or founder's page to get updates in your notices. Set your preferences at /account/notifications. Every launch has a share page with text ready to paste on X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, Threads, WhatsApp and email, plus a button to copy the link.

Building influence

Influence is earned by writing reviews and comments, getting votes on your own launch, and visiting regularly. You can't buy it. Higher influence levels make your vote count for more. Check your level at /account/influence.
