FAQ

Which options for external communication does Wire offer?

Wire offers two options for secure external communication: externals and guests. Most organizations collaborate with external partners, which can be clients or contractors. Externals are part of a Wire team, while guests can join via web browser without an account.

How do self-deleting messages work?

Self-deleting messages are messages that automatically disappear from conversations when the timer you set for them runs out. You can set a timer for texts, pictures, audio, videos, links, documents, and pings. Self-deleting messages are available in 1:1 and group conversations.

How many accounts can I use at once?

You can log in to Wire with up to 3 accounts. You can switch between the different accounts by selecting your profile picture on the left sidebar (macOS, Windows) or in your profile (mobile).

How can I moderate calls?

As a group admin you can mute other participants in a conference call on your desktop. Choose the participant in the call overview and right click on the participant's name, then select Mute or Mute everyone else. This change will affect all devices for participants. They always have the option to unmute themselves if they want.
